Designing your kitchen based on functionality is the best place to start.
What is one part of your kitchen that drives you crazy? Is it organization? You are not alone! This is the most frustrating aspect in everyones kitchen, and even if you do get it organized, it is quick to clutter again.
Designing your kitchen based on functionality is the best place to start. Examine how your kitchen is used by you and your entire family.
There are three crucial parts to your kitchen. The Refrigerator, the Sink and the Cook/Bake area.
The refrigerator (your storage area) and cabinetry surrounding it is perfect for the snacks and easy grab foods, storage and meal prep areas, and your staple items. Along with the countertop areas for grocercies, cannisters and cookbooks.
The sink (your clean up area) is the heart of your kitchen and is the most used area. Usually cabinetry surrounding the sink holds your dishware, glasses and cutlery that you use everyday, along with towels, potholders, papertowels and napkins.
The Stove/Oven (your working area) including the cabinetry and countertops surrounding it are for your pots and pans, small appliances, and bakeware.
Figuring out the flow of your kitchen will help you stay organized plus adding some extra’s like a pull out spice rack or divided cutlery drawers or even tucking your trash inside a pull out cabinet for extra tidiness and organizations.
Once you have figured out the function of your kitchen, and which parts are most important to you and your family, your kitchen will come together functional and clutter free, atleast for the moment 😊
